Waypoint Crew is London’s close-knit, adventure-loving crew for like-minded legends in their 20s–40s. Big hikes, belly laughs, post-walk pints, and pushing yourself a little further each time. We’re all about real friendships, unforgettable weekends, better mental health, and saying yes to more life.

This summer, we’re flapping with excitement to team up with the eggstraordinary team at Chicken Rush to bring you the ultimate outdoor social in support of Mind. Big love to Chicken Rush for turning our slightly silly summer vision into something clucking brilliant!

London can be a lonely city, so we’re hatching an event to get people outdoors, meeting new faces, and supporting mental health - all with a very generous dose of silliness.

Chicken Rush is a fast-paced, clue-solving, pub-hopping adventure where you and your team will race across Hackney to track down your wonderful Waypoint hiking guides — Beth and Jon - in full chicken costume. Yes, really.

Armed with only your phone, street smarts, and unshakeable determination, you’ll crack clues, earn points, unlock secret locations, and try to out-sprint the flock to the final roost.

First team to find the chickens wins a prize. And eternal glory, obviously.

Expect:
✅ Hilarious clues and bonkers challenges
✅ Pub stops and social vibes
✅ Competitive energy, flapping feathers, and potential chicken dance-offs
✅ An eggcellent evening for a cracking cause

1. Gather the squad (We’ll sort this)
2. Chicken select (Also done – Beth and Jon are your chickens)
3. The Escape – The chickens run off to hide, with a 5-minute head start
4. The Circle – Chickens are tracked via GPS, with a large circle around their location
5. The Shrink – The circle tightens every 2 minutes, narrowing down the hiding spot
6. Where’s that chicken? – Teams race to the hiding spot (hint: it’s a pub or bar)
7. Drinks Lottery – Enter the wrong pub? You'll need to get yourself a drink!
8. The Rush – First team to find the chicken wins 100 points
9. Cheeky Challenges – Earn bonus points by completing hilarious tasks

6:45pm – Meet outside The Star By Hackney Downs, 35 Queensdown Rd, Lower Clapton, London E5 8JQ
7:00pm – Briefing begins (don’t be late or you’ll ruffle your team’s feathers)
7:10pm – Chickens (Beth & Jon) head off to hide, with a 5-minute head start
7:15pm – The hunt is ON - walking/running ONLY, please!

9:00pm - Secret pub/bar reserved at 9pm, first team to get there WINS!

All proceeds from this event go to Mind, the mental health charity. Your donation helps fund vital services and campaigns so no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

• A fully charged phone (you’ll need it to follow clues)
• Comfy walking shoes – around 5km total
• Water and good vibes
• Optional: Waypoint tops, fancy dress, or anything ridiculous — think chicken hunter, rival bird, or full farmyard glam
